Our History

The vision for ARK OF CYPRESS INC. was born from a deep passion to share the Gospel and serve vulnerable communities. What began as evangelistic outreach to remote communities around Abuja in Nigeria soon became a life-changing mission of hope, compassion, and empowerment.

During these outreach programmes, I had the privilege of ministering to more than 200 people at a time, the majority of whom were women. Beyond their spiritual needs, we encountered heartbreaking social and economic realities. Many families struggled to pay school fees for their children, provide basic daily necessities, or create sustainable livelihoods. We also found large numbers of young people roaming the streets without access to education or meaningful opportunities.

These encounters transformed our vision. We realized that lasting change required more than meeting spiritual needs alone—it required addressing the underlying causes of poverty, unemployment, and social exclusion.

This led to the establishment of the ARK OF CYPRESS Women Empowerment Centre, which later evolved into ARK OF CYPRESS INC., reflecting our broader mission of empowering not only women but also children, youth, families, and entire communities.

After conducting community needs assessments across the areas we served, we began implementing practical interventions designed to create lasting impact.

Our initiatives included:

• Registering vulnerable children, especially young girls, into primary schools to restore their right to education.
• Establishing two community football teams to engage young people positively, keeping them away from crime, drug abuse, and other social vices while developing leadership, teamwork, and discipline.
• Partnering with the Industrial Training Fund to equip young men with vocational and entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Today, ARK OF CYPRESS INC. continues to build on this foundation by empowering individuals and communities through education, skills development, entrepreneurship, leadership development, and sustainable livelihood programmes. Our vision is to help people discover their potential, improve their quality of life, and become agents of transformation within their families and communities.

We believe that when people are empowered with knowledge, opportunity, and purpose, they do not merely escape poverty—they become catalysts for lasting change that benefit generations to come.

We are delighted to state that Ark of Cypress has expanded to the United States of America and is now registered with the State of Delaware.
